Host & Backstage Manager
Expectations
- Stay calm and collected throughout the event while also taking and implementing any feedback given by the Directors
- Remain positive and energetic over long hours (6:00am – 11pm)
- Remain flexible if asked to perform other responsibilities
- Must be a team player and customer service oriented
- Attention to detail is a must
- Aid in the take-down of each event and help pack the truck (1-2 hours). Ability to lift 30lbs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Set-Up and take down of backstage area
- Check-in performances
- Take photos of dancers
- Manage any prop ‘load-ins’ or set-up with studio teachers
- Assist dancers, and teachers with whatever they may need backstage
- Communicate all scheduling notes to Announcer, Auditor, other Teachers
- Keep the backstage area organized, calm, and friendly
- Periodic sweeps of the stage, removing any debris between performances, ensuring stage markings are visible
- Ability to learn simple dance routines for the Awards ceremony
- Toss Out prizes on Stage
- Lead Pre-Awards ceremony Dance/Activity (Shine Slide, Limbo, Studio Song, etc).
- MC the Awards Ceremony (Welcome and congratulate everyone; announce awards)
