Host & Backstage Manager

Expectations

  • Stay calm and collected throughout the event while also taking and implementing any feedback given by the Directors
  • Remain positive and energetic over long hours (6:00am – 11pm)
  • Remain flexible if asked to perform other responsibilities
  • Must be a team player and customer service oriented
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Aid in the take-down of each event and help pack the truck (1-2 hours). Ability to lift 30lbs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Set-Up and take down of backstage area
  • Check-in performances
  • Take photos of dancers
  • Manage any prop ‘load-ins’ or set-up with studio teachers
  • Assist dancers, and teachers with whatever they may need backstage
  • Communicate all scheduling notes to Announcer, Auditor, other Teachers
  • Keep the backstage area organized, calm, and friendly
  • Periodic sweeps of the stage, removing any debris between performances, ensuring stage markings are visible
  • Ability to learn simple dance routines for the Awards ceremony
  • Toss Out prizes on Stage
  • Lead Pre-Awards ceremony Dance/Activity (Shine Slide, Limbo, Studio Song, etc).
  • MC the Awards Ceremony (Welcome and congratulate everyone; announce awards)
